Apparently my comments in support of Lewis and all new builders were not well recieved by one of the moderators - so here goes again. You guys need to lighten up and show a little respect and patience for newbies to the flight deck building community. You don't treat "adult" "planners" who ask more ...

Dual Core

Hi Ryan, You cannot have "too much" computer on your main machine especially if you are using a lot of photo real sceneries or running many programs/addons simultaneously. Remember that the computer is only as fast as the slowest part. Sticking a dual core processor on an old motherboard with slow o...

Any XML users out there?

HI There, I have a small XML problem with my ERJ170 Guages. As I am completely useless with XML I was wondering if you would be willing to take a look at it? The situation is: The MFD is pop up, movable and scalable - no problems here. The EICAS is popup movable and scalable - no problems here. The ...

Multi monitors

As most people here are using FS9 I can tell you this. "In theory", using an SLI motherboard you can have 2 cards with 4 monitor ports. You could connect 4 Matrox TH2go and now have 12 screens. I have no idea if this would work or not. I am using 6 screens - 3 on the TH2Go (main view) and 3 independ...

TH2GO

Hi There.

The actual resolution is 3840 x 1024. The problem will be finding 4:3 screens with a native resolution 1280 x 1024 and to be bigger than 19".

Jon
ps digital version orders are being taken from Matrox's website.

Hi Tom, Making the switch to 8800 GTX cannot hurt anything - only improve it. I am not sure why you switched to Vista as XP Pro is much more proven? If you want to tweak your system start fresh with new motherboard - EVGA 680 SLI - This is the favourite for tuners and gamers. A new Intel core duo 67...

Atlantic crossing

Hi Eric,

During the olympics there were a lot of American biz jets in Genoa and Nice.
Newfoundland to Ireland. The 40 would even make it - just.
The 170 can just make Gander to Nice straight.

Jon
ps If that 45 is really that noisy from the passenger space I wouldn't want to be sitting there?

Rear Projection

Hi Tim,

Careful, the rear projectors maybe different than the front ones. I've got 3 Christie 70 "cubes" and I beleive the projectors are different for rear projection.

747 Sim

Hi There, When you consider a Level D sim made from real parts is 7 to 10 Million USD I think that 10 to 15 thousand for a 747 DSTD is the bargain of the century. Have you priced an economy car lately? Building flight decks is an expensive hobby but it is far from the most expensive one. Racing cars...

747 Sim

Hi Guys,

If it's 30,000 Kiwi that's only about 30 Canadian and 10 Euros
I don't know about the projectors but having seen some lately that cost 30,000 Canadian each it might be a bargain.
