....the document for the kit does contain a schematic and it is only about $4.00 worth of parts..... circuit could easily be put together on ones own on a perfboard without the kit and PCB....

I believe they mean that you need 8-26 volts for the control circuitry - it does say in the documentation that you can use any voltage for the motor using the card with the motor jumper remov ...
