Hi All,

Just about to put some windows into the FDS Shell and I'm planning to use 5mm perspex for this.

Have others experience using perspex/plexiglass for this and if so is 5mm thickness OK?

Sorry,

I may have confused you there. I used one A5 sized EL sheet to cover the panel in the picture, so it would require around 12 A5 sheets to cover the entire overhead panel.

Thanks for the compliment.

On the power supply front, the EL Sheets themselves are powered by an inverter which converts 12V DC to a high voltage, high frequency AC source.

Thanks Ian,

I've used Farnell for lots of stuff... never thought to look there for EL. I notice that they do an inverter sufficient for A3... two of those should just about cover my overhead...

Glad the info helped... just to check out one thing you said... you suggested you used a 1 ohm 10W resistor as the resistive load to get the ATX supply to kick in.

Based on the code snippet that you supplied, it looks like FDSC only reads data into BYTE arrays, and the user has to hande the conversion into the appropriate variable...
