Switch Position (Resend Switch State) (Resolved)

Post by michaelr87 »

I have wired many switches into the FDS-SYS2X (128 switch) board, and they work great, however I have discovered an issue where the interfaceIT software does not seem to recognize the position of a switch when FSX is started with the switch "on". The software seems to default all switches to the off position, so a switch that starts in the on position needs to be toggled off and on again to be recognized. Does anyone know if there is a way to tell interfaceIT to check the position of the switch on start up? Thanks.

There is an "Internal Variable" called Resend Switch State.

Assign a push switch that function and use it when you start your sim Michael.

As an alternative to assign the "resend switch state" to a push button, requiring user action, would it be possible also to add a configurable option checkbox to the software so that the resend happens automatically upon startup of the InterfaceIT software, e.g. when it connects to FSX?

Thanks, Arie

I have assign this "Internal Variable" to Master Battery On. Remember you can have multiple action on each switch.

By the way, it seems InterfaceIT seems pretty unstable with this "Internal Variable" with PMSystem (Project Magenta); lots of crash. I have read on another topic that installaing InterfaceIT on the same computer than PMSystem can cause many Issue; I have to try using a different computer....

The software should be sending the switch position on startup (in order 1, 2, 3....). You need to ensure that interfaceIT is started last so that all the other software can handle when the switch is sent in.

This applies to PM Systems as well. Let PM Systems start and stabilize, then InterfaceIT can start and make all the correct switch positions.

As an aside, I believe that FSUIPC can start InterfaceIT automatically so this might be a good way to have it start once FS is up and running.

But...if you use PM Systems (or other software) that needs to send multiple switch positions it needs to be running first. Then InterfaceIT can get the information and do it's switch resend on start up.. If the software is started after, then InterfaceIT has already done it's resend.

We have been using batch files in the Windows Start Up folder. So haven't tried using FSUIPC to do any start ups.

Thank-you very much Steve. That was exactly what I needed to do. I just tied the Master Battery switch into that internal variable and now all the switch positions are immediately detected.

Thanks Steve. There's always more than one way to do something, and it can get hairy at times, cant it?!

Hi Guys

Well, in my case this created havoc on my system: XP,PMSystems.

I load FSX first, then via WideCLient ini file PMSystems which runs in separate PC.

Waiting until PMSystems stabilzed, I then fire-up the other PCs with IIT. So currently my IIT and PMSytems are on diferrent PCs.

All was good before trying to do the "resend switch state" var. After that I have issues with the systems, some switches work some not, And PMSytems crash when ending. (Error 53)

My questions:

1. Say I wish to hook the resend switch state to the BAT1 switch - does the resend var needs to be first in order ? (action 1...2..3...)

2. Assigning the resend var, when you add a new task - there is the option of ON/DOWN - then the var.Do I need to do this also on the OFF/UP position too ?

Many thanks

Isaac
