The MCP shuts down after a while.
When it goes off I hear the "plug in or plug out "sound of USB .
The sim stays on autopilot, MCP software OK

I tried different USB sockets to no avail
Diconnecting and reconnecting USB or power or restarting FS do not restart the MCP.
Restarting the PC is the only way.
I reloaded the driver and checked the port and ini.file
Must be something stupid. ?

Used to happen to me Jack YEARS ago...I remember bugging Pete too! Smile

6V 2A power supply did the trick for me.

Take a look at this, particularly the Workaround section. You can disable the USB automatic shutdown and this should prevent the USB from shutting down. But Nat's suggestion may be the best option if your MCP power supply is underpowered.

I had installed the G2 card between two acrylic plates for protection.
Removed the top one , was a heat problem.
Works fine now.
