What is the proper angle for setting the 3D Mip Panel B777?

Post by Randy Holmes »

Anyone who can help with this I would really appreciate it. I have researched Lambis's website on the Project 777 and found he has changed the main instruments bank angle by 20 Degrees.

I have tried emailing Lambis, but for some reason the email bounces back from greece with the message unable to resolve rholmes@goingsailing.com.

MIP Angles

Typical angles for MIPs across the board is 18-20 degrees.
I will ask Lambis to comment.
His lambis@flightdecksolutions.com email should be working.
If you ever get a bounce more than once on an FDS Team Member please email me so I can jump in! PC

I thing 20 degrees are correct. You should test it in your own cockpit. It is important that you have a correct view position on the main instruments.

I you want, I could send you a picture of my cockpit from sideview.

Thanks Peter and Nils. Nils I would appreciate the sideview picture of your cockpit. One more question, what is the proper height from the floor to the bottom of the main panel?

Hello Randy,

just give me some days to make pictures. My sim is standing at my parents home.

the dimensions are:

Pedastal high:
45 cm

At the second EICAS (CDU) it gets up to 55 cm (that are my dimensions)

If you add the Mainpnel it is about 90 cm.

Including the MCP about 105 cm.

Including the MCP
If you need more dimensions for the B 777 you can have a look at this homepage:

http://www.simpit.de/b767dim/index.html

I know that these dimensions are those of a B 767, but they are nearly the same to the B 777.

Greatings

Nils
