Jack, you are killing me.

By the way, while flying over Florida why didn't you stop in FLL to visit and have a glass or two of wine ? Wink

I like that light test panel - did it yourself ?

One more irrelevant improvement !

I chased that part for years (for no valid reason of course)
Mechanical Timer used on the big Boeings.
Got one finally from UAM

I had to trim the backer panel, clean everything, repaint and plug in the backlighting.

Made in Switzerland, real aero feel (vs an Egg timer !)
Small project to forget winter blues...

You keep on amazing me Jack.

But this time you got me : I have absolutely no clue what that timer is used for besides buzzing for Whisky time.

Also timing estimated fuel transfer necessary to rebalance uneven consumption on long hauls (to avoid over transfering.)
Also "waking up" crew for HF reporting points (oceanic)

And if everything else fails, that unit will work!

I am wondering though what the Camera on off lightplate was for.
I remember that AA used to show the cockpit on Take off on entertainement screens. (the A380 has that feature but outside cameras)

I saw one on a Virgin Blue NG not long ago.
Im sure they said it was for fuel transfers also (not boiling eggs as I first thought Smile )

minor but nice improvement.
3D latch
Hole saw out the red dot and insert a milk container cap painted red.
Held in place with hot glue.
