I received many back plates with my IBL panel. What is that for? Is it used for placing every switchs on or only for those who had precut their MIP with holes too large?
So do we screw (for example) a rotary swicth on this back plate, on the MIP or on the IBL Panel itself?
Thank you for comments,
Al
I will have many photos on my site soon!

The Backplates you received are part of the "Retro" version of the set.
Builders that have the current MIP require a way to mount their hardware.
The current design was for Signature. This had large cutouts to allow light into the panels. This meant the hardware was attached to the panels and not the MIP.
With IBL you are attaching hardware to the metal backers provided and not directly on the IBL panel itself (more like the real setup).
When we bring the "IBL" version MIP out the hardware will have cutouts in place on the MIP. Main panels would bolt on to the MIP.
you need to mount your hardware somehow. you have your own MIP.
The simplest method is to mount the hardware to the Metal backers and then attach those to the MIP you made. The MAIN IBL panels will sit right on top.
