Patrik sent in some update shots of his current set up.
Knowing his busy schedule I am sure he has devoted most of his free time
on the project. We are looking forward to releasing our Interior liner sets and
they will look right at home here.
Many thanks for the pics Patrik!

Hey Patrik...Another beautiful NG! Smile

I just find it completely amazing, the number of these FTD's popping
up around the world.

Just a few years ago...one of these hiding in a bedroom would have made
national headlines...now thanks to leading techniques by FDS,
they are in reach of most enthusiasts!

Congrats Patrik and FDS,

Nat

Patrik : very nice NG. Congratulations on a great job.

Like Nat says : 10 years ago this was almost unthinkable, except perhaps for Peter's A320 that started it all.

Hope to see pictures on your progress soon

Patrik was kind enough to send in some updated shots of his project.Always happy to get them posted on the forum for everyone to celebrate the progress.
Thank you Patrik!

Some comments from Patrik:

Its great to finally have gotten everything together and also it has been exciting to see the development of FDS during this time.
It has been difficult to build the sim because of my busy work schedule and the fact that my wife have born two kids all during this time.
When I started the project in May of 2005 by ordering the FDS Signature O/H panels I only had plans for a small simple setup but as more parts was made available by FDS the project has grown.

Off course the project is not finished since there is always small improvements to be made!
Patrik

737 windows are available. Full set goes for $349CAD,
They really help enclose you in the sim.

Are they glass or acrylic? Thanks for the info.

Acrylic. Glass is far out of range for $$.

The only 'improvement' that may be done here would be the alignment of the side views; the rest is pretty much perfect as far as I can see.

Is the alignment off because you did not yet spend enough time to align the projectors or did you run into some difficulties because of the flat panels? I used a curved screen but what I see in your flat screens is similar to an issue I had with my curved screen so I may be able to help you if you need some hints to make the alignment easier.

Your sim really looks great! Keep up the good work...

I have to ask, are you using default scenery, clouds and weather? Or, are you using some add-ons like REX, ASA or AS2012, and others? The reason I ask is, you're night time sky looks amazing; especially, the stars in the sky.

Now, I know Maurice might not like to see clouds at night and so many stars, but I wouldn't mind it. Because my settings are darker it's harder to see the clouds and stars. I'm sure it is because of REX and AS2012 on my system. However, I am going to pursue some changes to make mine more like yours...
