Hello Folks

Need some help again please:

I have my normal rotaries interfaced to the SYS1 and PM - works like a charm.

I wish to have them work more accurate I.E auto return from GND to OFF when N1 triggers it.

Now I AM NOT asking about the mechanical side of it (this I can handle) what I do not know is what or how is the solenoid triggered ?

To clarify this - when N1 hits 56% or so, the solenoid needs to push the switch's arm from GND to OFF - how does the solenoid get it's signal to operate ? is it a SW issue, is it a HW one?

I guess some of you did that with SYS1 and PM - so I hope someone can shed some light on it.

BTW - I have Trevor's info but I am not using SIOCS and wish to stay with my FDS SYS1 setup

Many thanks

Isaac

We have an XML that is more like a timer to click the real switches from Ground to OFF. Using real switches (or solenoids) and using an FDS Relay card you can control this action. Adjust the timing in the XML. These were created by Steve W. a while ago.

Thanks Steve

I guess this will be some kind of OUTPUT right Question

All the 737 XML files I have are from 2008... is this XML somewhere on the server list, or this one is only available when buying the R1X Question

Many thanks

The Relay card controls the power to the Solenoid. Can also be used to control a stickshaker and a solenoid driven Yaw Damper switch.

Steve,

If I may, I think what tugo31 is asking is wether the R1X can "give power" or supply power from the card to the solenoid.

As I understand it, the R1X only triggers the relay to allow it to connect the solenoid, but the power supply needs to come from another source.

Or am I wrong again Rolling Eyes

Cheers

Isaac

Isaac, yes you need an external power source (24V is the easiest to find)
to power the engine start switches etc. in conjunction with the relay card...

Hi Nat

Thanks mate.

You don't ask - you don't know... Wink

I have 12V solenoids, so I guess my 12V from a PC PSU will do.

Will give it a go soon.

Cheers

Thanks for the info, i found a pair of start switches with the 12v solenoids and ready to install them on the OVHD for 236 Euros from a supplier at Germany, now i need to find the best way to interfase them.

Hi Juan Carlos

I am interfacing my whole setup with FDS SYSboards.

Once you go this way - you will never want to go back Smile

Cheers
