Hello Folks

Got some PnP HW operating from the PC USB outlet. Apparently the HW does not work with the FSX = will operate regardless of the sim state i.e "cold and dark"

The only thing that actually works is its SW. When executing the SW it gomes to life, when shutting down it goes down.

Since I wish to control this via the BATT switch - is it possible somehow to execute the SW via the batt switch via the SYSboards ?

What I have ion mind is somethink like this: "when BATT switch is on - then execute xyz.exe"

I know the sysboards have lots of functions, but I have no experience with them.

I am open to other ideas too, however I will be happy if this can be done with the SYSboards.

Many thanks

Isaac

This feature isn't directly built into the InterfaceIT software, but you can do it,... although it might take a little experimentation. Wink

Here's a method to Start and Stop Notepad.exe via an Switch ON/OFF

Find a Key Press Combination that won't affect your sim..
for example: CTRL + SHIFT + F5

In InterfaceIT assign an action : Send Keystroke > On/Down
and add the keystroke assignment : <CTRL><Shift><F5></Shift></CTRL>

Next, goto the Windows Desktop, right-click and create a NEW > Shortcut
Browse for the C:\Windows\Notepad.exe file.
Then select the new shortcut, right-click properties, select "Shortcut Key" and assign CTRL + SHIFT + F5

Now when you move the switch to ON this shortcut will be executed and the program executed.

To Close the Notepad.exe
Assign action : Send Keystroke to a window (Changing Focus) > Off/Up

Keystroke = <ALT><F4>
In the "Window Information" Section select the Find Window Icon and drag the icon over the open Notepad title bar. This will automatically detect the window title, filename and class.
Save

You will need to add a second action : Send Keystroke > Off/Up
and add the keystroke assignment : </ALT>
This is to clear the ALT keypress sent to the Notepad window.

Now Notepad should Execute and Close from your switch.

Hope this helps...

Hi Mark

Can you please explain the following line ?

Quote:
<CTRL><Shift><F5></Shift></CTRL>

I can understand the first three, but what does the </Shift></CTRL> mean ?

Thanks

Isaac

They 'release' the SHIFT and CTRL keys.
