Thanks to XorionFE moving up to new gear, I got a chance to buy his old stuff. Scott was gracious enough to deliver it and help me get some of it together today. Also picked up real forward and aft overhead frames.

I'm motivated to start building again!

This is where I was....

And now some progress

The other two Plasma's arrive tomorrow, and the mounts for them are already made, so I can't wait to see the visuals with the three screens

That being said, My P3D machine is showing its age. Its an i7-2600 and I need to bump the speeds back up after refreshing the box with a new load of Windows. I'm getting 14-20FPS on the ground at KDFW FSDreamteam airport now and that's with no AA, 25% My Traffic, UTX North America and without REX. I was running dual GTX-275's in that PC, so last night I ordered a GTX680 and it should be here by Friday. So that will give me a chance to do a little before and after comparision.

Very much looking forward to both the updated GPUs and the final two displays. Keep us posted.

More displays arrived. Still dialing them in, but going to try a night flight.....

Really adds to the immersion.

Well its XorionFE's design, so giving him full credit.

Home Depot:

1 1/2" galvanized pipe (Scott used 2' Black) comes in 10 ft length threaded, have them cut in half.

(2) 1 1/2" U-bolts per stand

1 1/2" threaded pipe flange

18" round 1' thick table top (unfinished)

I added a 24" square 1/2 plywood under it for stability

Four 5/16 bolts, washers, lock washers and nuts to bolt the flange to table top wood.

Upper frame is 3/4 plywood, bought one sheet and ripped in 4 equal 24 x 48 pieces.

Lay flange on wood, slightly offset from center since TV will hang in front of it. Mark holes and drill. I countersunk the back for the boltheads prior to drilling.

Mount flange to table top, secure with bolts, nuts and washers.

Mount 24 x 24 plywood to table top

thread pipe into flange and tighten as much as you can

Mark, drill and install ubolts to 24 x 48 mounting plywood (careful to center it when marking).

Choose TV mount of your liking, I used thin mounts from Monoprice.com

Measure your TV height before installing mount (can be adjusted using ubolts later, but best to get close first).

Install mount on plywood, hang TV.

My TV's were big enough that I didn't block the HDMI ports with the 48" wide piece, but you should ivestigate first and potentially cut access if needed.

It was ~$200 for 3 mounts and that leaves leftover for almost anothe mount (spare pipe and backer wood).

On another note, just got a Big box of goodies from FDS today, my overhead parts and MIP 2.0 mods!!!! Going to be a fun month, thanks Peter and Steve!

Didn't get as far as I would have liked. There's a lot of switches and annunciators to wire....
