SIM-A Sound File (warning sound always on) RESOLVED

This section of the Sim-A Forum is for support issues.
Only a few Clear Rules Here:
1. No Rants. Rants will be deleted and the poster contacted. All focus here is to assist in the spreading of information to better assist all Sim-A users. Most of the people helping are not paid employees.
2. Be Polite. We want all Sim-A users to experience the fantastic elements that make Sim-A what it is. Being able to communicate here will allow the info to be the focus.
3. Time. We do not have someone on the Forum 24/7 so please allow members to jump in to help when needed.
4. Most important. This is not a "Issue" forum. If you feel there is an issue then please email support@sim-Avionics.com and Mark will review that. This is a commercial product and erroneous reports do harm.

SIM-A Sound File (warning sound always on) RESOLVED

Post by GDR »

Hi,

When I start up all screens, with the cockpit switched off, they all go dark (as designed), except the VOR, this always remains illuminated.

Next, when I power up the cockpit, I continuously hear the alert sound. And it doesn't go away, even during a flight. So, when I switch off the cockpit and power it back on, it's gone, but then the EICAS goes dark. Shutting down the EICAS application and starting it again makes no difference.

Mark,
Can you have a look at this? Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks
Geert.

Sounds like the IRS no elec supply warning....maybe?
Goes away as soon as you have APU or Engine Gen online..

I have the sound even when I'm in flight. It doesn't go away.
I'll check tonight which sound it actually is.

Hi,

The warning sound I'm having is the EVAC SOUND. It stays until I power off the elec system. When powering back on it's gone. But, then I've lost the upper eicas screen. It doesn't come on anymore.

Furthermore, nat based on your remark I've noticed that I've checked the "Start with IRS aligned", but this isn't the case. IRS does not come on aligned. (since I've upgraded to 1.38).
In the meantime I'm aligning it through the CDU menus.

Thanks for the help.
Geert.

Go to the Sounds folder and find the EVAC sound and put xxx in front of that wav file. It is a B777 sound and not B737. I have had to do that on a few setups.
