Hello everyone,

Just trying wondering if anybody else have been experiencing this issue. For the third time my aircraft have been suddenly dropping the airspeed to 0 for a couple of seconds and then returning back to its original airspeed.

On all of the occasions the issue has happened during the descent. With LNAV/VNAV engaged. Everything seems fine and all of the sudden an EICAS low airspeed message along with a master caution. The aircraft reacts and commands a GA full power to get back its speed. Then just as it appears the speed tape quickly goes back to its original speed plus the additional reaction power which now puts the aircraft in an overspeed situation.

This has happened to me in 3 different flights and up to 2-3 times each flight. I took a video of this but don’t know how to attach it Sad

Has anybody else experienced this? Or have any suggestions on what might be causing this?

Hi Francisco,

Yeah, I have had this issue since installing the latest version of Sim-A. I noticed that it only happens in bad weather in icing conditions... Anyways, if this happens I turn off Active Sky and the problem goes away.

Check your turbulence settings in Sim-A, P3d and ActiveSky.
After a lot of trial and error I notices that they overlap with one another and sometimes they generate this volatile airspeeds.
I found a good compromise by eliminating it in P3d and Sim-A (off) and just use the ActiveSky setting to a value of around 20-25.

Hello Thomas,

Thank you for your reply. I'm not sure if icing will be the problem on this one for two particular reasons: first as I said this has only happened during the descent/approach phase, which the altitude is lower and the temperature brings me to the next point which is that on two of the times that this happened at airports that were located in the Caribbean which doesn't normally freeze lol Smile but I’ll still check.

Hello Andrea,

I will take a look at that. Where do you check for turbulence in SA? Thank you for the advice.

I have taken a look at the latest version of this aircraft and have found an error in the aircraft.cfg, this has nothing to do with AS or the server turbulence

Pitot heat is 0 when it should be set to 1

Find this section in the 777 aircraft.cfg

[pitot_static]
vertical_speed_time_constant =1
pitot_heat =0

Set this for pitot heat

pitot_heat =1

Awesome, that might be another reason. Thank you for the heads up.

Just to say Mark has updated the latest aircraft installer to correct this issue now so this is resolved
