Air Premia is a brand new full-service hybrid carrier with flights proposed to Vietnam, Japan, Hong Kong and Los Angeles.
Air Premia is led by the former president of South Korea’s largest budget airline. It is seeking to carve a market share in the long-haul segment. The pilots and crew require state-of-the-art, real-world immersive training exposure to prepare for the B787 additions.
FDS Solution/Approach
Introducing a brand-new aircraft into an airline is an enormous undertaking. FDS has worked on numerous projects, mitigating the various training system gaps encountered during new equipment induction.
Air Premia chose Flightdeck Solutions to properly prepare its pilots when they accepted their new Boeing 787 Dreamliners. Having highly trained and competent pilots is the backbone of any safe and successful airline. Having the right tools to train pilots properly can be an enormous expense and incredibly complex to integrate into any training program. Air Premia asked Flightdeck Solutions if they were able to build a highly capable, spatially accurate, fully tactile fixed base Flight Training Device (FTD) that would fit within the confines of a start up low cost carrier. Flightdeck Solutions rose to this task because they understand that financial constraints should never mean sacrificing in quality of training or training tools. By producing this highly immersive B787 FTD Air Premia has been able to test and refine their standard operating procedures in order to launch their operation.
Outcome
Flightdeck Solutions produced a high performing, low maintenance FTD that performs like a full motion simulator on a fixed based training platform, enabling Air Premia to meet their desired requirements, within sensitive timelines and budgets.
